What still needs confirmation
- Exact SmartBuy partner ceilings remain unresolved for Gold versus legacy Regalia. Vouchers have claim deadlines and restricted use.

- 6 complimentary international airport lounge visits per year via Priority Pass

- Reward point redemption ladder published on the Regalia Gold product page: Rs 0.65 on the exclusive Gold Catalogue, Rs 0.50 for flights and hotel bookings via SmartBuy (the Regalia-tier rate; Infinia and Diners Black get Rs 1.00), up to 0.5 airmiles on airmiles conversion, up to Rs 0.35 on products and vouchers, and ₹0.15 against statement balance under the dated MITC

- Reward Points can cover at most 70% of a travel booking (flights, hotels and experiences) on SmartBuy; the balance is charged to the card
- Domestic lounge access uses the credit card at the lounge after the spend gate is met; the MITC does not require Regalia Gold customers to obtain SmartBuy lounge vouchers.
What we like
- +Strong travel benefits: 6 international Priority Pass visits per year with no spend gate, plus up to 12 domestic lounge visits per year (3 per quarter, subject to Rs 60,000 spend in the preceding calendar quarter)
- +Low Rs 2,500 fee, fully waivable on Rs 4 Lakh annual spend
- +Up to Rs 16,000 in milestone vouchers per year on high spends (Rs 1,500 per calendar quarter = Rs 6,000, plus Rs 5,000 at Rs 5 Lakh and Rs 5,000 at Rs 7.5 Lakh), plus a Rs 2,500 welcome voucher
- +Low 2% foreign currency markup, well below the 3.5% charged on most mid-tier Indian cards
- +Complimentary Swiggy One and MMT BLACK Gold memberships add first-year value once Rs 1 Lakh of spends is reached
What to watch
- −Base reward rate is modest (~0.75% effective at our typical Rs 0.30/RP) and was cut in the 15 May 2026 revision (5 RP/Rs 200 from 4 RP/Rs 150)
- −Domestic lounge access now spend-gated at Rs 60,000 per preceding quarter (May 2026 change)
- −This record covers Regalia Gold; older Regalia variants have different terms
Our full review
This review covers Regalia Gold. Its current base earning and redemption routes differ from older Regalia variants. Quarterly vouchers and annual flight vouchers can add value only when you qualify in the correct period and redeem them in time.

Who this is for, and who should skip it
A customer who can use the flight and shopping vouchers and wants a lower-fee alternative to HDFC’s premium cards. Check the exact card name on your offer: this record does not represent every older Regalia product.
What the issuer terms say
HDFC’s dated Regalia Gold notice changes base earning to 5 points per ₹200 from 15 May 2026. At our ₹0.30 comparison value that is 0.75%. Older product pages can still show 4 points per ₹150. The Gold product page describes ₹1,500 quarterly vouchers at ₹1.5 lakh quarterly spend, plus ₹5,000 flight vouchers at ₹5 lakh annual spending and another ₹5,000 at ₹7.5 lakh.
What it earns you — the maths
These are total monthly budgets, not necessarily amounts charged entirely to this card. They repeat for a full year, with card bills paid in full. UPI is separate from the other categories; a non-RuPay card earns nothing on that part. No specific shopping app, bill-payment channel or travel portal is assumed. Select those in the calculator if you use them. Annual reward value is expressed in rupees, not in points.
| Profile | Monthly budget | Annual reward value (₹) | First-year net value | Renewal-year net value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Everyday spender | ₹35,000 | ₹2,340 | ₹-610 | ₹-610 |
| Online-first shopper | ₹55,000 | ₹4,230 | ₹12,280 | ₹15,230 |
| Frequent traveller | ₹1,10,000 | ₹7,830 | ₹20,880 | ₹23,830 |
Reading the table: a negative net value is a cost. First year = rewards + eligible first-year milestones − joining fee including GST. Renewal year = rewards + eligible annual milestones − renewal fee including GST, with a modelled spend waiver where earned. Welcome offers are excluded until their conditions are confirmed. Milestone vouchers are assumed usable at face value; reduce their value if you would not use them.
- Everyday spender, renewal year: ₹2,340 reward value + ₹0 milestones − ₹2,950 fee = ₹-610.
- Online-first shopper, renewal year: ₹4,230 reward value + ₹11,000 milestones − ₹0 fee (spend waiver met) = ₹15,230.
- Frequent traveller, renewal year: ₹7,830 reward value + ₹16,000 milestones − ₹0 fee (spend waiver met) = ₹23,830.
The monthly splits, in the order groceries / online shopping / dining / fuel / travel / bills / UPI, are:
- Everyday spender: ₹9,000 / ₹7,000 / ₹4,000 / ₹3,000 / ₹2,000 / ₹4,000 / ₹6,000.
- Online-first shopper: ₹8,000 / ₹22,000 / ₹8,000 / ₹3,000 / ₹4,000 / ₹5,000 / ₹5,000.
- Frequent traveller: ₹12,000 / ₹15,000 / ₹12,000 / ₹6,000 / ₹40,000 / ₹8,000 / ₹17,000.
Points are converted at the comparison values, which can differ from cash redemption. These estimates exclude redemption fees, transaction rounding, refunds, financing costs and benefits such as lounges or insurance. Merchant exclusions and transaction timing can change the result.
Provisional calculation: some earning conditions or ceilings for this card remain under review. The figures are a comparison estimate, not a complete forecast or a guaranteed saving.
The fee and renewal decision
The standard joining fee is ₹2,500 + GST = ₹2,950. The standard renewal fee is ₹2,500 + GST = ₹2,950. Renewal fee waived on annual spend of Rs 4 Lakh (Regalia Gold) within the card year. The legacy plain Regalia waiver was Rs 3 Lakh per the MITC. A welcome voucher is a restricted benefit, not an automatic refund of the fee or GST. Compare the first-year cost separately from the cost of renewal. Check your own offer if it says lifetime free or first year free.
The important conditions
The first annual flight voucher is at ₹5 lakh, not ₹6 lakh. The quarterly ₹1.5 lakh test cannot be replaced by one large annual purchase. Voucher expiry and eligible booking rules limit their value. The ₹0.30 comparison value is not the cash redemption rate: Gold catalogue, travel and statement redemptions have different values.
Alternatives
HDFC Millennia may suit eligible partner cashback. Axis Atlas has a different travel-earning and miles proposition.
How we verified this
This is a desk review of issuer material, not a claim of first-hand card ownership. We have removed unsupported generalisations about what other holders report. This review was corrected on 10 September 2026 for the claims discussed above. A review update is not certification of every benefit or future offer. Unresolved calculation coverage is labelled in the examples. Use the issuer’s dated notice or your specific offer where it differs from a general product page.
The linked issuer material above supports the key earning or eligibility claims. The card’s full details and source list include its other published terms. Our methodology separates editorial opinions from calculated estimates. No customer-review average is claimed.

Frequently asked
Does this review apply to the original Regalia card?
No. It covers Regalia Gold. Older Regalia and Regalia First variants can have different earning, milestones and lounge terms.
Do these examples include GST and welcome benefits?
Standard joining and renewal fees include 18% GST in the calculations. First year deducts the joining fee once; renewal year deducts the renewal fee after a modelled spend waiver. Unconfirmed welcome offers are excluded.
Are reward values the same as cash in my bank account?
Not necessarily. Statement cashback, Amazon Pay balance, points, miles and vouchers have different redemption rules. Use the value of the redemption you will actually make, and subtract its charges.
Can I rely on the example to predict my exact statement?
No. It is a monthly estimate with stated assumptions, not a transaction-by-transaction simulation. Merchant codes, caps, excluded payments, refunds, statement dates and rounding can change the result. Use the calculator with your own spending and confirm the issuer’s current terms before applying or renewing.
